Crispy edges, sweet-tangy glaze, and smoky bacon—this one converts even Brussels sprouts skeptics.
🥓🥦 Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Balsamic & Bacon
🛒 Ingredients:
- 400–500g Brussels sprouts (trimmed & halved)
- 4–5 strips bacon (chopped)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & black pepper
- 1–2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tsp honey or sugar (optional, balances acidity)
- 2 cloves garlic (optional, minced)
🔪 Steps:
- Preheat oven
200°C - Prep sprouts
Trim ends, remove any loose outer leaves, and cut in halves. - Season
Toss sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper. - Add bacon
Mix chopped bacon in so it roasts alongside the sprouts. - Roast
Spread on a tray in a single layer. Roast 20–25 minutes, stirring once, until crispy and browned. - Finish with glaze
Drizzle balsamic vinegar (and honey if using) over hot sprouts. Toss well.
Add garlic at the end if you want a stronger flavor.
🍽️ Serve with:
- Grilled chicken or steak
- Rice or mashed potatoes
- Or just eat straight off the tray 😄
💡 Tips:
- Don’t overcrowd the pan—crowding = steaming instead of crisping
- Want extra crisp? Roast cut-side down
- No bacon? Use nuts or just go all-veg—it still works
If you want, I can show you a spicy version or a honey garlic glaze twist that’s even more addictive.
