HUGE POT of Chili at Home 🌶️
Perfect for meal prep, game nights, or feeding a crowd — this makes a seriously big pot (12–14 servings).
Ingredients
Meat
- 2 kg (4–5 lbs) ground beef
- Optional: 500g sausage for extra flavor
Vegetables
- 3 onions, diced
- 3 bell peppers, chopped
- 8 cloves garlic, minced
Beans
- 3 cans kidney beans
- 2 cans black beans
- 2 cans pinto beans
(drained and rinsed)
Tomatoes
- 3 large cans crushed tomatoes
- 2 cans diced tomatoes
- 1 small can tomato paste
Liquid
- 4 cups beef broth
Chili Seasoning
- 4 tbsp chili powder
- 2 tbsp cumin
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp cayenne (optional)
- Salt + black pepper to taste
Optional Flavor Boosters
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- splash of coffee or dark beer
Instructions
1. Brown the Meat
In a huge stock pot:
- cook beef in batches
- drain excess grease if needed
2. Cook Vegetables
Add onions and peppers.
Cook until soft.
Stir in garlic for 1 minute.
3. Build the Chili
Add:
- tomatoes
- tomato paste
- broth
- beans
- all seasonings
Mix thoroughly.
4. Simmer Low & Slow
- Bring to gentle boil
- Reduce heat
- Simmer uncovered 1.5–3 hours
- Stir occasionally
The longer it cooks, the better it tastes.
